Mount Hanare

Mount Hanare (2,307 m) rises in the Mukawa-cho district of Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, on a spur ridge branching east from Mount Nokogiri in the northern Southern Alps. Its crested rock summit has no maintained trail; the only known approach climbs from a forest road along the Ōmukawa River, a tributary of the Kamanashi, and the route demands rope protection across exposed rock for which falls would be fatal. It is regarded as one of the most rarely climbed brush-and-rock peaks in the area.
