Terms of Use
Last updated: 5 October 2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using the Tabide app (the "App") provided by Tabide, an individual developer ("we" or "us"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. The App
- Tabide is a free app for viewing maps and weather model data, planning routes, recording activities and sharing your location with friends.
- We may add, change, suspend or end features, or the App itself, at any time.
2. Accounts
- Some features require an account. Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details safe.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile → ⋮ → Account Settings.
3. Map and weather data (disclaimer)
- Maps, aerial photos, satellite images, elevation data and weather data come from third parties, including OpenStreetMap contributors, the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI), the Copernicus programme and ECMWF. We do not check this data on the ground.
- We do not guarantee that any information in the App is accurate, complete, up to date or suitable for your purpose. Trails, lifts, ski runs and other features may be missing, closed, moved or wrong.
- Weather maps and tables show predictions from computer weather models and can have large errors. Conditions in the mountains can differ greatly from what is shown.
- Your position, recordings and routes depend on your device, GPS and network, and may be inaccurate or unavailable.
- Always check official information, such as signs, closures, weather forecasts, warnings and avalanche bulletins.
4. Outdoor activities and your safety
- Outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and mountaineering carry risks, including serious injury and death.
- The App supports your own planning. It does not replace your own judgment, experience, proper equipment, or a backup such as a paper map.
- You are responsible for your own decisions, conduct and safety.
5. Your content and sharing
- You keep the rights to the content you add, such as recordings, photos, landmarks and your profile.
- You allow us to store, process and show that content only as needed to run the App's features for you and the people you choose to share with.
- When you share your live location or other content, the people you share with can see it. Share only with people you trust, and only content you have the right to share.
6. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- break the law or these Terms;
- harass, threaten or impersonate others;
- track or share another person's location without their consent;
- post content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes others' rights or privacy;
- interfere with, overload or reverse engineer the App or its servers, or access them by automated means;
- copy, collect or redistribute data from the App beyond your own use of the App, or use it to train AI models;
- use data from the App in ways its sources' licenses do not allow.
7. Restriction and account deletion
If you break these Terms, we may restrict your use of the App, or suspend or delete your account, where reasonably necessary.
8. Third-party services
The App uses third-party services such as Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple, and data under the third-party licenses listed in Data Sources. Their own terms also apply.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.
10. Limitation of liability
- The App is provided free of charge and as is.
- We are not liable for damage that is not attributable to us, such as damage caused by errors in third-party data, device or network problems, or your own decisions.
- We are liable as provided by law for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.
- If we are liable for damage caused by our slight negligence, our liability is limited to direct damage that would ordinarily arise, and does not include damage arising from special circumstances or lost profits. This limitation applies only to cases of our slight negligence.
11. Changes to these Terms
- We may change these Terms when the change is in the general interest of users, or when it is reasonable and consistent with the purpose of these Terms.
- We will announce the new Terms and the date they take effect in the App in advance.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
- Disputes about these Terms will be resolved by a court in Japan that has jurisdiction under the Code of Civil Procedure.
13. Language
These Terms are provided in several languages. If the versions differ, the Japanese version prevails.
