Mt. Yokodake
奥ノ院
Chino, Nagano · Elevation 2,830 m
Yokodake (2,830 m) stands on the border of Chino and Minamimaki in Nagano Prefecture, the second-highest peak of the Yatsugatake range after Akadake. It is a chain of rocky crags about 800 m long, with minor pinnacles such as Sansa-mine and Oku-no-In; its summit, also called Oku-no-In, is famed for its alpine flora. Within Yatsugatake-Chūshin-Kōgen Quasi-National Park, it offers dramatic ridge scrambling on the traverse with Akadake and Iōdake, and is counted among Japan's 100 High Mountains.
