Year-round mountain hut at about 2,220m at the head of the Yanagawa Kitazawa, northwest of Akadake in the Yatsugatake range, in Toyohira, Chino City, Nagano Prefecture. It is a base for climbers heading for Akadake and Iodake, busiest in winter as the base camp for the southern Yatsugatake, and the hut builds an artificial icefall called the Ice Candy where visitors can ice-climb. Indoor lodging is by reservation only, while the campground needs no booking and sets no limit on the number of tents. Check-in is at 9:30 and check-out at 8:00. The bath can be used from May to October, and its fee is included for those staying in the hut. Light meals are served from 10:00 to 15:00. There is no mobile phone reception around the hut, which relies on a satellite phone, so booking through the website form is recommended.
