This point lies on the Kenkaione route to Akadake from Minamimaki. A firebreak through larch woodland climbs from the Minami-Yatsugatake forest-road trailhead to its signpost, beyond which the route continues toward Kotengu. Bamboo grass can obscure the path below this point.
