Mountain hut at 2,450m in the Kiretto, the deep notch between Gongendake and Akadake in the southern Yatsugatake range. Reaching it means descending a long vertical ladder from the Gongendake side, while the way on to Akadake is a steep climb for experienced walkers, so the section demands fitness and proper equipment. In July komakusa flowers open on the gravel slope north of the building, and camping among the tsuga and Veitch fir was popular. Mount Fuji stands only 75km to the south-south-east, and the Tengu ridge with its Otengu, Kotengu and Kakuretengu towers rises close by, making this a favourite spot for photographers. Long known as the oasis of the deepest Yatsugatake, the hut is closed for the 2026 season as it was in 2025, and since it relies on rainwater no water is available to passers-by either. Run by Yumoto Honzawa Onsen.
