Mt. Tsumeta

A 2,193 m peak in the Kita-Yatsugatake range in Chino City, Nagano, lying about 2 km southwest of Mugikusa Pass. Its slopes hold prized obsidian outcrops and were a major Jōmon-period quarry whose stone was traded across Japan, now recognized within the Japan Heritage "Star-Falling Jōmon World of the Central Highlands." The peak lies within Yatsugatake-Chūshin Kōgen Quasi-National Park.
