Tateshina Tokyu Ski Resort trail map
Tateshina Tokyu Ski Resort is a small hill inside Tokyu Resort Town Tateshina, a forest estate of hotels and holiday homes at the northern end of the Yatsugatake range. With one pair lift, a snow escalator and three short runs, it is far quieter than the big resorts and is aimed squarely at children and first-timers. Families come for the activity area with tubing and snow racers, a free snow-play area, and a parent-and-child debut programme run by the SAJ ski school. The season runs from late December to early March, mostly on weekends after New Year. It is about 30 minutes by car from Suwa IC on the Chuo Expressway, with a free bus from Chino Station.
