Echo Valley is a ski area at Himekidaira in Nagawa, Nagano, set between Kurumayama Kogen and Blanche Takayama at about 1,450 to 1,850 m. It opened in 1981 as Kokusetsu Echo Valley Ski Area, named after the Yamabiko (echo) valley it occupies, and offered steep upper runs of up to 35 degrees, gentle beginner trails through the forest, a snow park and night skiing. It is a sister resort of Andermatt in Switzerland. After passing from MACEARTH to Blue Resort, it suspended operations in the 2020-21 season, citing the difficulty of COVID-19 measures, and has stayed closed since, with no reopening announced.
