Ikenotaira Snow Park trail map
Ikenotaira Snow Park is the private ski hill next to the Ikenotaira Hotel on Lake Shirakaba, at over 1,400 metres, where the snow is dry and the skies are often clear. Two chairlifts serve just three short runs, the longest 550 metres and none steeper than 20 degrees, so it is an easy place for children to start skiing. The Pota Snowland area has a sledding slope, inflatable play equipment and an animal corner, and the Gota-kun hill adds slalom poles, waves and tunnels for kids to learn on, with lessons from age four. With the hotel's onsen, indoor pool and museums close by, families can fill a whole day here.
