Mount Kuroganeyama is a 2,531 m peak straddling Kōfu City in Yamanashi Prefecture and Kawakami Village in Minamisaku District, Nagano Prefecture, set on the main ridge of the Oku-Chichibu Mountains between Mount Asahi and Mount Kinpu. The summit lies within Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park, on the popular traverse from Ōdarumi Pass to Mount Kinpu—about 45 minutes beyond Mount Asahi and 30 minutes short of the Kinpu summit. The trail skirts the north side of the rocky top, so few hikers actually visit the highest point.
