Mount Bankei is a 604 m mountain in the Bankei district of Chūō Ward, Sapporo, its name said to derive from the mountain title of Myōfuku-ji temple at its foot. Climbed from a trailhead near the Bankei Citizens' Forest, its northeastern cliff gives a sweeping view of central Sapporo, and being close to the city it is often hiked together with neighboring Mitsubishiyama. The hiking trail starts 350 m beyond the Citizens’ Forest entrance.
