This out-and-back starts beyond Bankei Citizens' Forest on the Myofukuji side, crosses a stream and climbs a wooded ridge to the 604-metre summit of Mount Bankei. Although close to central Sapporo and short in distance, it gains roughly 330 metres and opens toward the mountains of western Sapporo from the summit area.
