From the Kobayashi Pass trailhead in Bankei, Chuo Ward, Sapporo, this return climbs onto the ridge, joins the Nakanosawa Course at the T4 junction, crosses Sankakuyama and reaches the 826 m Mount Toishi on the border of Chuo and Minami wards. Named for the whetstones once quarried here, its rolling mid-slope trail is splendid in autumn colour, with glimpses through the trees of Mount Moiwa and the peaks around Lake Shikotsu.
