Sapporo Teine sits on Mt. Teine about 40 minutes from central Sapporo and hosted the slalom and giant slalom races of the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. The upper Highland zone keeps the Olympic giant slalom and slalom runs plus Kitakabe, a 36-degree tree-lined steep, while the lower Olympia zone offers wide gentle slopes beneath the old Olympic cauldron. Fifteen runs spread over 683 m of vertical, with a 6 km cruise from the summit and views across the city to Ishikari Bay. Night skiing runs in the Olympia zone, and the season stretches from late November into early May.
