Kiroro Snow World spreads across Mount Asari and Mount Nagamine in Akaigawa, west of Sapporo, and is known for some of the deepest, lightest snowfall in Japan. The 3,300 m Kiroro Gondola climbs to the summit, and 23 runs include a 4,050 m top-to-bottom cruiser. Most terrain is intermediate or advanced, and registered tree-run zones open ungroomed powder to strong riders. At the base, hotels including two Club Med resorts, a hot spring, childcare and a kids' academy make it easy to stay, and the season runs long, from late November to early May. Buses connect it with Otaru, Sapporo and Niseko.
