Mt. Noguchigorōdake

Noguchi-gorō-dake (2,924 m) lies on the boundary of Toyama City and Ōmachi City in the central Hida Range, the highest summit of the "Ura-Ginza" traverse within Chūbu-Sangaku National Park. It is included in the 300 Famous Mountains, the 100 Highest Mountains, the 100 Mountains of Shinshū and the 100 Mountains of Toyama. The name combines "Noguchi," a hamlet at the foot of the range in Ōmachi, with "gorō," a phonetic rendering of *gōro* — a slope strewn with large stones, which is the peak's defining surface texture. Just below the summit stands the Noguchi-gorō Hut (about 2,870 m), a key shelter on the high ridge linking Eboshi-dake, Suishō-dake and Washiba-dake.
