Tateyama Sanroku sits at the foot of the Tateyama range in Toyama City and is one of the largest ski areas in Hokuriku. Its two areas, Gokurakuzaka and Raicho Valley, link near the 1,188 m summit, which looks over the Toyama Plain and Toyama Bay, and runs reach up to 3 km. Raicho Valley has broad, gentle slopes and a kids' park suited to families and beginners, while Gokurakuzaka holds steeper pitches of up to 32 degrees and has hosted national-games giant slalom. Night skiing runs on the Utopia slope on selected winter Saturdays. The season runs from mid-December to mid-March, close to the Tateyama interchange and Tateyama Station, with large free car parks.
