Yunishigawa Onsen Ski Area Closed
Official name 湯西川温泉スキー場 · Formerly 村営湯西川スキー場
Tochigi
Open 1968–2002
Yunishigawa Onsen Ski Area was a village-run ski hill within walking distance of Yunishigawa Onsen in the former village of Kuriyama, now part of Nikko, Tochigi. Opened in 1968, it had a single lift on a gentle north-facing slope with a steep pitch near the top. It closed in 2002 after 34 years, but local volunteers, the ski club and parents have since set up a T-bar and prepared the slope so the local school can still hold ski lessons there.
