Kita Nikko Takahata Ski Resort trail map
Takahata is a town-owned ski area deep in the mountains of Minamiaizu, Fukushima, known for dry inland powder and a 3.5 km run from the summit. Four lifts serve ten courses in four areas, from the gentle Blue Highway, averaging 9 degrees, to the 34-degree Super Black and bumpy pitches that draw keen skiers. The summit looks out to Mt. Hiuchigatake, the Nasu peaks and, on clear days, Mt. Bandai. There is an SAJ ski school and a kids' corner, and snowboards have been allowed since 2022-23 after years as a ski-only area. It runs from late December to late March; it is far from the expressway, but there is a hot spring close by.
