Aizukogen Nango Ski Resort trail map
Aizukogen Nango is a town-run hill in southern Aizu that welcomed snowboarders early and now sees about 70 percent riders. It is known for its parks: a main and a second halfpipe, the Pyonpyon jump parks and a hike-up park for beginners, and Olympic gold medallist Ayumu Hirano trained here as a child. Twelve runs on Mt Denjo drop about 490 m, from a 37-degree pitch to a 3 km cruise, and some runs are left ungroomed as powder zones. The summit looks down on the Ina River. Parking is free around the clock, and most visitors drive in from the Kanto area via the Tohoku Expressway.
