Okutadami Maruyama Ski Resort trail map
Okutadami Maruyama Ski Resort sits beside the Okutadami Dam lake near the Niigata–Fukushima border and is known as a mecca for spring skiing. Snow is so deep that its only access road, the Okutadami Silver Line, closes in midwinter, so the resort runs two seasons: an early-winter powder season in December, then a spring season from late March to early May, with corn snow, moguls and a terrain park. Ten courses include beech-forest trails and ungroomed expert runs, and the summit looks out over the surrounding Okutadami mountains. The Midori no Gakuen lodge sits at the base.
