Suhara Ski Resort trail map
Suhara is a local ski area in the deep-snow Uonuma district, a short walk from Echigo-Suhara Station on the Tadami Line. A quad lift climbs to the summit, where the view takes in the Echigo Sanzan peaks, Mount Sumon and Mount Asakusa. Its eleven runs range from easy slopes to an ungroomed expert pitch and a mogul course, and linked runs give a descent of about 2 km. The Hoshi no Ie observatory stands at the top, and packs bundle the lift ticket with lunch or a nearby day onsen.
