Marunuma Kogen Ski Resort trail map
Marunuma Kogen sits on the flank of Mount Nikko-Shirane, the highest peak north of the Kanto plain, in Katashina, Gunma. A ropeway climbs to 2,000 m, and the longest run drops 4 km. Altitude and snowmaking give it one of Kanto's longest seasons, from early December to the May holidays. The upper mountain has wide views, an ungroomed mogul run, powder zones and natural terrain features; the lower slopes form a gentle Friendly Area with a kids' park and snow park. The base station has its own Zazen hot spring, and the Chalet Marunuma lodge sits on the slopes. It is about 50 minutes from Numata IC along Route 120.
