Kawaba Ski Resort trail map

Kawaba sits on the south face of Mt. Hotaka's Takate ridge in Kawaba, Gunma, about 25 minutes from the Numata IC and an easy day trip from Tokyo. About 580 m of vertical gives long cruising runs up to 2 km, with dry snow. Its twelve runs split evenly between beginner, intermediate and advanced, and stronger riders get a mogul course, several terrain parks and FWT-certified off-piste zones open after a safety briefing. A new park produced by pro snowboarder Reira Iwabuchi opens for 2026-27. The eight-storey Kawaba City base links a multi-level car park directly to the slopes.

Parking: 1,300 spaces · Multi-storey (900 cars): Sat, Sun and holidays ¥1,500 per car, free on weekdays; outdoor (400 cars): Outdoor Lot 1 ¥1,000 per car on Sat, Sun and holidays, free otherwise (regular season); multi-storey reservation 3,500 yen per car (parking fee included)
