Tambara Ski Park trail map

Tambara Ski Park is a family-focused ski area on the Tambara plateau in Numata, Gunma, on the southwest slopes of Mt. Shikamata, a peak of the Hotaka range. About 30 minutes from the Numata IC and two hours from Tokyo, it sits between 1,250 m and 1,550 m and stays open from late November into early May. Most of its eight runs are beginner or intermediate, including a 2,550 m cruise and a course overlooking Lake Tambara, while the Trial course is left ungroomed after snowfall. A snow-play area with sleds and tubing, ski and snowboard schools for kids, and free weekday lift tickets for children make it easy for families.

Parking: 2,000 spaces · Free on weekdays / paid period (weekends and holidays Dec 19, 2026 - Mar 28, 2027, and 12/28-31): cars 1,000 yen, mid-size 2,000 yen, large 3,000 yen (car park 2: cars 500 yen; car park 3: free)

Numata Station JR Joetsu Line · 19 Dec 2026 – 4 Apr 2027 · If full, take the Kan-etsu Kotsu Kashozan Line route bus from Numata Station (Sat, Sun, holidays; fare charged) to the Park & Ride → Free shuttle bus (reservation required, first 18 people, by 16:00 the day before). Weekdays: 9:30 from Numata Station, arriving 10:20; on set days: 7:20, 8:40 and 9:20, via the Park & Ride (former Salad Park), about 1 hour
