Mount Kengamine is a 2,020 m peak on the ridge extending southwest from Mount Hotaka (2,158 m, one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains) in Gunma Prefecture, sitting on the meeting boundary of Kawaba Village, Numata City and Minakami Town. Its sharp rocky profile makes it photogenic from afar; in summer it is reached by a long climb from the Hotaka Shrine trailhead, and in winter the Kawaba Ski Area lift gives quick access to a striking snow-ridge traverse toward the main summit of Mount Hotaka.
