Fujiwara Snow & Spa Resort trail map
Fujiwara is a small, family-focused ski area in the Okutone district of Minakami, run directly by the adjoining Hotel Sunbird. Wide, gentle slopes can all be seen from the base and every run returns to the hotel, so parents can keep an eye on children. More than half of the ten runs on three lifts suit beginners and intermediates, with a few short ungroomed and tree-lined advanced lines. On weekends and holidays the Kids Land offers sledding and an inflatable slide, and preschoolers ride the lifts free. After skiing, the hotel's hot-spring baths, private baths and a snow-dive sauna are next door. It is about 30 minutes by car from the Minakami IC; there is no night skiing.
