Mt.T by Hoshino Resorts, called Tanigawadake Tenjindaira Ski Resort until 2024, spreads out around the Tenjindaira ropeway station on the south-east side of Mt. Tanigawa. Around 15 m of snowfall a year brings deep powder, and the craggy face of Tanigawa looms right above the slopes. In-bounds pitches run from 15 to 38 degrees, and many experienced riders come for the adjoining 30-50 degree backcountry terrain. You ride the ropeway up and down, and when snow allows, the Tajirizawa run descends all the way to the base. Tokyo is about two hours away by Shinkansen and bus.
