Norn Minakami Ski Resort trail map
Norn Minakami sits just 3 km from Minakami IC on the Kan-etsu Expressway, about 95 minutes by car from the Tokyo area, which makes it one of the easiest day trips from the capital. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the lifts run late into the night, and at weekends they open early in the morning, so you can make a long day of it. The area gets little natural snow and relies on around 60 snow guns. Five runs spread over 400 m of vertical, including a 2 km cruise from C to D, a steep mogul run, and a snow park. A separate sledding area and free shuttle buses from Minakami and Jomo-Kogen stations help families and train travellers. In 2023 its name changed from ノルン水上 to ノルンみなかみ, writing Minakami in kana instead of kanji.
