Togakushi Ski Field trail map

Togakushi Ski Field spreads over the slopes of Mt. Menou and Mt. Kenashi on the Togakushi plateau in Nagano City. It is known for light, dry powder it calls "magic snow" and for the jagged Togakushi range that fills the view from the runs; from the 1,748 m summit the Northern Alps, and on clear days Mt. Fuji, are visible. Its 19 runs include the 31-degree Champion course and several mogul runs, long groomed cruisers, gentle beginner slopes and a freestyle park. A ninja-themed kids' park and a nursery suit families. The city-owned area runs from mid-December to the end of March and is about an hour by bus from Nagano Station; local Togakushi soba is served on the hill.

Car: Shinanomachi IC, Joshin-etsu Expressway (nearest; from Nagano, the Asakawa Loop Line is recommended)
