Ikenotaira Onsen Alpen Blick Ski Resort spreads across the broad lower slopes of Mt. Myoko and is known for very wide, open runs and a top-to-bottom cruise of about 4 km. Skiing here dates back to 1927, and the resort combines the Kayaba slopes in the north with the Alpen Blick slopes in the south, with views of Lake Nojiri and Mt. Myoko. Mostly gentle terrain makes it popular with beginners, families and school groups, while ungroomed tree runs, a few steeper pitches and a snow park add variety. There is a netted kids' garden, a hotel and a day spa nearby, and in winter free shuttles run from Myoko-Kogen station.
