Tangram Ski Circus trail map
Tangram Ski Circus sits on the north-northwest face of Mount Madarao near the Nagano-Niigata border, known for dry northern Shinshu powder and views over Lake Nojiri and the five peaks of Hokushin. Almost every run funnels back to the slope-side Hotel Tangram, which has a hot spring, indoor pool and nursery, making it an easy base for families. Long beginner cruisers sit alongside ungroomed powder zones, tree-run courses and a terrain park, and a Madarao all-mountain ticket links the summit with neighbouring Madarao Kogen for a much larger area. The season runs from mid-December to late March.
