Kurohime Kogen Snow Park spreads over the lower slopes of Mount Kurohime in Shinano, Nagano, with views down to Lake Nojiri and Mount Madarao, and it is best known for making room for families and dogs. In the Snow Dog Area you can ride the lift with your dog and ski a 1 km run together, while Kurohime Family Park has a sledding slope and kids' park and there is an indoor climbing and play hall. Most runs are gentle beginner and intermediate terrain, but the Mouse course reaches 33 degrees and there are mogul sections. It is about 5 km from Shinanomachi IC on the Joshinetsu Expressway or ten minutes by taxi from Kurohime Station, and the season runs from late December to late March.

Car: Joshin-etsu Expressway, Shinanomachi IC (上信越自動車道信濃町IC), 5 km, 6 min
Parking: "Chika-Chu" (paid reserved parking close to the facilities and slopes) from 3,000 yen per car

Train

Nagano Station → Kurohime Station Shinano Railway Kita-Shinano Line · 30 min · Tokyo to Nagano 1 h 30 min by Shinkansen; Kanazawa 1 h by Hokuriku Shinkansen; Nagoya 3 h by Chuo Line (Ltd. Exp. Shinano). From Joetsumyoko Station, Echigo Tokimeki Railway to Myoko-Kogen (about 35 min), then 8 min on the Kita-Shinano Line → Taxi, 10 min
