Snow World Tazawa, formerly Tazawako Minami Ski Area, stood near the eastern shore of Lake Tazawa in Semboku, Akita. Four double chairs served seven runs over about 610 m of vertical, from 125 m to 735 m, including a 3.2 km cruiser and a 40-degree pitch; half the terrain was for beginners, and the lower slopes were lit for night skiing. It was a separate facility from the nearby Tazawako Ski Resort. It closed in 2007 and all its ski facilities have been removed, while the onsen resort hotel at the base remains open.
