Shiga Kogen Maeyama Ski Area Closed
Official name 前山スキー場
Nagano
Open 1959–2009
Maeyama was a small ski area at Sudarikawa (Hotaru Onsen) in the southern part of Shiga Kogen, across the road from Kumanoyu and at the foot of Yokoteyama. A single pair lift, first built in 1959, served three short runs on Mt Maeyama, the longest about 900 m. Winter lift operation stopped from the 2009-10 season and the ski area closed. The lift itself was kept and now runs from early summer to autumn as the Maeyama Summer Lift, carrying hikers up toward the start of the Shiga Kogen pond trail.
