Mount Shiga is a 2,035.5 m peak in Yamanouchi Town (Shimo-Takai District), Nagano Prefecture, one of the principal summits that gave Shiga Kōgen its name. The Shijuhachi-ike pond cluster spreads across the col to the north; Mount Hachi and its crater lake Hachi-ike lie to the east, and Lake Ōnuma to the northeast — together one of the most distinctive natural areas of Jōshin'etsu-Kōgen National Park. The Shigayama Trekking Course of Shiga Kōgen serves the peak, which is featured in Hana no Hyakumeizan, Shinshū Hyakumeizan, Kō-Shin'etsu Hyakumeizan, Japan's 100 Hot-Spring Famous Mountains, and many other lists.
