Shiga Kogen Giant Ski Area trail map
Giant is the FIS-homologated slope rising just above the Yamanoeki base of Shiga Kogen's central area. Opened in 1930 as the first ski slope in Shiga Kogen, its single 1,000 m face reaches 34 degrees and hosts many A-class races such as giant slalom. There is essentially one expert run served by a double chair, but it is a wide, consistent pitch for strong skiers. The Shiga Kogen Resort Gondola from Yamanoeki connects it with Hasuike, and the central-area ticket covers all 13 linked ski areas around it.
