Okushiga Kogen Ski Resort trail map
Okushiga Kogen lies at the far northern end of Shiga Kogen on the northeast face of Mt. Yakebitai. It uses no snowmaking at all, relying on heavy natural snowfall for light, dry powder. Runs follow ridgelines between 1,470 m and 2,000 m, and the signature Downhill course flows 2,200 m from the gondola. Most terrain is intermediate, with 30-degree steeps, the ungroomed Kumaotoshi run and a kids' park for variety. It links with neighbouring Yakebitai on skis and accepts the Shiga Kogen all-area pass. With a hotel right on the slopes and a calm atmosphere, it runs from mid-December into the May holidays.
