Nakayama Toge Ski Area sits at about 830 m on Nakayama Pass, on Route 230 between Sapporo and Lake Toya, about an hour's drive from Sapporo. Known for natural snow that arrives early, it now opens mainly for early-season skiing and for spring skiing, when many come for the last runs of the year. One pair lift serves two mostly intermediate runs, a fun park is set up in spring, and there are views of Mt. Yotei. The pass also has a roadside station, and Donan buses from Sapporo Station stop nearby.
