Rusutsu Resort trail map
Rusutsu Resort sits southeast of Mt. Yotei, sheltered from the harsh northwesterly winds yet still fed with dry, light powder, and it gets more sunny days than many Hokkaido resorts. Three peaks, West Mountain, East Mountain and Mount Isola, are linked by four gondolas and fourteen chairlifts and carry 37 courses, from a 3.5 km cruiser to pitches of up to 40 degrees, ungroomed tree runs and a freestyle park with jumps and jibs. It has won Japan's Best Ski Resort at the World Ski Awards several times. A kids' park, a day nursery and on-site hotels with hot-spring baths make it easy for families to stay. It is about 90 minutes by car from Sapporo or New Chitose Airport, and the season runs from late November to the end of March.
