Orofure Ski Area trail map

Orofure is a small local ski area in Sobetsu, on the road up toward Orofure Pass, about 30 minutes by car from the Date-Mombetsu and Toya area. A single double chair serves four runs, from a 25-degree advanced pitch to a gentle 800 m cruiser used for lessons, plus a practice slope in front of the lodge. The open, compact hill makes it easy to keep an eye on children, and banana-boat rides, sledding and a snowball-fight court add to the fun. Schools use it for ski classes and school trips on weekdays, and the Hot Piazza lodge offers food, rest and group lodging. In low-snow winters the season may not start until January.
