Asahigaoka Ski Area is a small town-run hill on the edge of central Kutchan, Hokkaido, with one pair lift and two runs. The longest run is only 560 m but includes pitches of up to 30 degrees, both runs are floodlit, and there is night skiing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Lift prices are very low, children from the town ski free, and there are free days for residents. A dedicated sledding run, a cross-country course and the Yukinko-kan rest house are on site. It usually operates from January to early March.
