Kasadake Ski Area Closed
Official name 笠岳スキー場
Nagano
Open 1964–2009
Kasadake was a small ski area at Hirayuka, the gateway to Kumanoyu in Shiga Kogen, at the foot of Mt. Kasagatake. It opened in 1964 and in its later years had one high-speed quad with an intermediate run on one side and a beginner run on the other. It connected with Kumanoyu and was known for staying quiet even during the ski boom. It stopped operating after the 2008-09 season, and the lift company went bankrupt in 2011. The base hotel has closed too, while a campground, the Hirayuka geyser park and a skunk cabbage park remain nearby.
