Inawashiro Ski Resort spreads over the southern slopes of Mount Bandai in Fukushima, and its signature is the view straight down onto Lake Inawashiro, with early-morning 'sea of clouds' sessions on winter Sundays. The Sky and Base areas offer wide gentle slopes for families and beginners, while the Minero area has the race-grade Kokutai course and steep pitches up to 42 degrees. Saturday night skiing ends with snow fireworks, and there are kids' and terrain parks. It is about 8 km from the Inawashiro-Bandaikogen exit, with free shuttle buses from Inawashiro Station and several cities.
