Asahi Prime is a small family ski hill on the slopes above Asahi village, at the southwest edge of the Matsumoto basin. Everything sits around a single base, with tickets, restaurant and shop under one roof, so it is easy to manage with young children. Two pair lifts serve a gentle family slope for beginners and a steeper 'Special' slope for improving skiers, and there is a separate sledding park for kids. The resort puts weight on children's lessons, including all-inclusive beginner programmes with rental gear. The approach road is mostly clear of snow, and the hill is about 15 minutes by car from Shiojiri IC on the Nagano Expressway.

- Busta Shinjuku → Nagano Expressway Midoriko / Nagano Expressway Hirooka-Nomura (Shiojiri) Alpico Kotsu / Keio Bus (joint operation, Matsumoto–Shinjuku highway bus) · 200 min · The resort's access map says “taxi 20 min from Shiojiri Station”, but this bus does not stop at Shiojiri Station; its stops in Shiojiri are Midoriko and Hirooka-Nomura.
