Mt. Norikura Snow Resort trail map
Mt. Norikura Snow Resort spreads across the eastern foot of Mount Norikura in the Northern Alps between 1,500 and 2,000 metres, so the snow is light and a top-to-bottom run from the Kamoshika slope reaches about five kilometres. Most of its twenty runs are beginner and intermediate, but Kamoshika reaches 33 degrees, some slopes are left natural, and the resort is a starting point for ski touring beyond its boundary. Lift tickets are free for everyone 18 and under, and there is a kids' park and a milky hot spring at Yukemurikan. Opened in 1962, it has been through several operators and a closed season and is now run by a local council. It is about an hour from the Matsumoto IC.
