Hato-mine

Hato-mine (1,970.8 m) is a wooded shoulder peak on the eastern ridge of Mount Hachimori, on the boundary area between Yamagata Village and Asahi Village in Higashi-Chikuma District, Nagano Prefecture. It is approached from the Shimizu Kōgen highland on the Yamagata Village side, but lacks a maintained trail and is most often climbed in the residual-snow season because the slopes are choked with bamboo grass in summer. It is the symbolic mountain selected by Yamagata Village for the 2011 list Shinshū Furusato 120 Mountains, compiled by the Nagano Mountaineering Association and Shinano Mainichi Shimbun.
