Nishi-Kagonotoyama is a 2,212 m peak on the boundary between Tōmi City (Nagano) and Tsumagoi Village (Gunma), set on the Takamine Highland at the western end of the Asama volcanic chain along the Yu-no-maru–Takamine forest road. Together with the slightly higher Higashi-Kagonotoyama (2,227 m, first-class triangulation point) it forms a twin summit reached in a short walk from the Ike-no-taira or Jizō-tōge trailheads, with views over Asamayama, Yatsugatake and the Northern Alps from a ridge of Veitch fir and dwarf pine. The peak lies within Jōshin'etsu-Kōgen National Park.
