Sugadaira Kogen Snow Resort spreads across the Sugadaira plateau in Ueda, Nagano. Counting the Davos, Taro and Pine Beak areas it has around 60 courses, one of the largest counts in Japan, over terrain the size of 37 Tokyo Domes. Skies are often clear and the grooming is a point of pride, and the wide slopes spread crowds out. Rental shops, schools and restaurants in each area make it easy for beginners and families as well as experienced skiers. The season usually runs from late November to mid-April.
